Start Chores Early

When children are started on chores early, they are given the gift of responsibility. According to Kori Ellis, a writer for sheknows.com, "Teach your kids to take pride in their work by showing them how you want chores done, and help them understand the results you expect" (Ellis 1).  If your child may happen to fall short on his or her given task, do not get upset or angry. Simply, show them how to tackle the given task again. Praise is a must, so when the child finishes a chore to the best of their ability, you must reward them with gratitude and appreciation. Always remember to pick age appropriate chores and adjust your expectations to the age and capability of the child as well.
